Pre-registration of Beijing Marathon was closed on July 31, 2014. All 30,000 slots have been filled. Official registration of 2014 Beijing Marathon is closed now. To the international runners, we offer this special final opportunity to enter this highly popular marathon.

The program is to provide international runners guarantee entry to this extremely popular event along with accommodation, airport pick up, and professional tour guide services.

Here are the program details:

1) Guarantee entry of full/half Marathon

Event Information:

The Beijing International Marathon (Chinese: 北京国际马拉松赛) is one of the biggest sports events held in China. The race was first held in 1981 and has been held every year since. It is held in the Capital city of Beijing and covers 42,195 km of flat and fast course, starting at Tiananmen Square and finishing in the Olympic Garden center, travels through one of the world’s most magnificent cities. October in Beijing is dry and cool, a perfect autumn season for the marathon. The combination of views of the ancient city among views of a modern city adds infinite enchantment to Beijing.

Tadese Tola in 2013 as the Ethiopian beat the previous mark 27 years ago (1986 Japanese Taisuke Kodama,2:07:35) by nineteen seconds with 2:07:16 hours. In 2003, Sun Yingjie of China set the current women's record of 2:19:38 – this run was an Asian record and the fourth fastest ever at the time, and it remains the Chinese record for the event.

The Beijing International Marathon is organized by the Chinese Athletics Association(CAA) and approved by the State Sports General Administration of China, as well as the Municipal Government of Beijing. Recorded officially by the Association of International Marathons and Road Races, the BIM is the highest-level marathon in China. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has sanctioned and approved the BIM as one of the top marathons in the world. This allows participants of the BIM to receive IAAF scores.

Half-marathon finish point-West sidewalk at the intersection of Zhichun road and Kexuenan road

Marathon finish point-Celebration Square in the Olympic Garden center (on the Sightseeing Avenue between the Birds Nest Stadium and the Water Cube)

Travel Guide

1: Visa

Overseas visitors, who are non –Chinese nationals, need to obtain China visa usually L type. It will take one - two weeks to get the visa, and your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after entry. You need to present air tickets and hotel reservation to the embassy for visa application. For more information, please consult with your native Chinese embassies respectively.

2: Insurance

The organizer provides basic medical assistance. You can purchase medical insurance for this event. Please refer to their official site for more details.

3: Airport Shuttle Service

Our travel package does not include airport shuttle services. You can hail taxi to your hotel, which will take around RMB 160 Yuan or 28USD for one way. Local taxi drivers will not take foreign currency, please exchange cash at the airport currency exchange counter. Most drivers do not speak English or any foreign languages, you can show them the Chinese name of the hotel. Alternatively, we can arrange a private airport shuttle with a English speaking guide for you.

4: You will check in the hotel with your passport. If you need any assistance, please contact our English-speaking assistants who will be in the same hotel at your service.

5: The weather is very good in Beijing in mid-October, around 15-25 degrees Celsius. However, it is extremely dry, therefore we advise our clients to keep hydrated. Please note that water from the tap in your hotel Room is not drinkable. You can either boil the water in a kettle that is available in your room or buy bottled water from super market. Fresh fruits is also good for you in this dry weather.

6: When you outside of your hotel, please leave your valuables in the room safe deposit box for better security. You might only want to carry a photocopy of your passport and minimum amount of cash for safety. Larger stores accept credit cards so you need not a lot of cash in hand.
